A RACE TO FORGET IN ARGENTINA

RACE – #ArgentinaGP Expectations for the race at Termas de Rio Hondo were not at an all-time high for the Gresini Racing Moto2 team, as Salač was dealing with difficult physical conditions while Zaccone was starting the encounter all the way back in 28th place on the grid – even though he had a good feeling with the bike in warm-up that surely gave him a confidence boost for a potential comeback performance.

After the crash in free practice, the difficult weekend of Filip Salač ended up with another tumble – eleven laps into the race. Alessandro Zaccone had to return to the pits eight laps prior, due to technical issues. After a quick check by the team, he tried to make his way back to the track, at least to gather more data and experience. But the problems remained, leading to the early retirement from the Argentine Grand Prix for the Italian.

DNF – FILIP SALAČ #12

“A difficult weekend, as it was surely not the race we wanted. I wasn’t 100% ready and I lost ground at the start, plus I had to avoid two crashes in front of me which cost me further positions. Then on lap 11 I lost the front and crashed. A weekend to forget, but we hope to be more competitive at Austin.”

DNF – ALESSANDRO ZACCONE #61

“We experienced a technical issue on the bike, which we’re still trying to figure out. We’re very sorry about it, because we had what it took for a good race, but we’ll try again in America!”
