ROSSI CRASHES IN Q2 AND ALCOBA NARROWLY MISSES ON FINAL QUALIFYING

The standard bearers of Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 have qualified 18th and 19th in the last event of the 2019 Moto3 World Championship at Valencia. Riccardo Rossi and Jeremy Alcoba will line up in row seven and eight for what has been an improvement over yesterday’s performance – albeit with some regret.

Jeremy Alcoba managed to break the 1’40secs barrier (1’39.965) although he was only a few thousanths of a second away from qualifying to Q2, while Rossi was unable to capitalise on the good morning result as he crashed at turn one few seconds after the start of the second qualifying session.

18th – RICCARDO ROSSI #54

“It’s really a pity because we could have done well today, maybe even making the most of some good slipstream. I lost the front at turn one and there was no way I could save it. We will start from the back but it’s still the best qualifying of the year and I hope we can wrap this season well. We have a good race pace and clear ideas on what tyres to use – the softer one.”

19th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52

“After yesterday I needed a good showing and to be lapping ok the high 1’39s is surely an important result. Obviously it’s disappointing not to qualifying for Q2 but if I think about yesterday were surely on a different level. I hope I will start my new journey tomorrow on a good note and to celebrate my birthday the best way.”
