The second of two back-to-back Grand Prix at MotorLand Aragon has begun with a whole difderent flavour for Jeremy Alcoba and Gabriel Rodrigo, who were absolute protagonists in today’s free practice sessions. With a first and third place in FP2 this afternoon, the Spaniard and the Argentine were second and fifth, respectively, at the end of day one. Jeremy Alcoba is today’s protagonist: a week ago, he was 1.2 seconds away from the quickest rider of the day, while today is gap is only four thousandths of a second. Gabriel Rodrigo is close to the top as well – even with a crash on the final lap at turn 12. The idea is to start the race closer to the front of the grid compared to last Sunday in order not to have to go for another comeback like it often happens. Tonight we’ll sleep soundly, but we know there’s a lot of work to do in order to keep being among thr protagonists.”
5th – GABRIEL RODRIGO #2 (1’58.268)
“It’s been a positive day. This morning we were immediately quick even with the harder tyre at the rear, which is the one I like the least. We tried the time attack this afternoon because we’ll have 25 minutes less tomorrow. We also managed to do a good lap, despite being slowed down in the last sector. Too bad for the last lap: Antonelli overtook me and went wide, and when he got back in the line we collided. I was unlucky: he barely realised it, while I took a big risk.”
