NAVARRO HARD AT WORK AT ARAGON

The MotoGP World Championship resumed proceedings today at Aragón, a track where Jorge Navarro has won already and where last year he scored his so-far best Moto2 result. His Friday did not get underway the best way, though, but then the Spaniard’s feeling with his Kalex machine improved lap after lap.

His Kalex #9 seemed to be able to make a difference during last May’s tests at this track. Since then, though, the bike has changed and some more track-time will be needed to find the right set-up; tomorrow morning’s free practice 3 – starting at 10:55 local time (GMT +2) – will be crucial.

The rider of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2finished the day thirteenth-quickest and only six tenths of a second away from Bagnaia’s provional best lap-time.

“Things didn’t go as well as I’d hoped as the feeling wasn’t the same as last May’s test. It’s true that the bike has changed a lot since then and now it’s all about making it work at this track. We used today’s free practice sessions to find the best set-up: we’re not where we want to be yet, but we’re well on the way. There’s not a specific area where we struggle, so we need to improve a bit everywhere – including the engine brake.”
