NAVARRO MAKES BABY STEPS IN #DUTCHGP

Jorge Navarro has found some confidence back around the corners of the TT Circuit Assen, in a first day of action that left good feelings in the Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 Team’s pit-box. The young Spaniard was 16thoverall after the first two free practice sessions – eight tenths of a second shy of provisional pole position – albeit with a clear idea of what to do tomorrow.

With many laps completed – more than 40 – Navarro logged his personal best lap-time in the morning session, while showing a promising pace this afternoon ahead of the Moto2 race of the Dutch Grand Prix.

A strong qualify will be crucial in order to get a good grid position and then battle for a positive race result. FP3 will get underway at 10:55 local time, with qualifying scheduled at 15:05 local time (GMT +2).

16th– JORGE NAVARRO #9

“It has been a positive first day, despite the result. We tried something in the morning in order to find the right direction, but in the afternoon we were unable to find that step forward we were looking for, so tomorrow we will go back to previous settings and look for something different. I feel good on the bike, even though we need to improve a bit in acceleration and grip, especially at turns 5, 11 and at the last chicane, too.”
