ENCOURAGING FRIDAY FOR BULEGA AND PONS AT MISANO

Nicolò Bulega confirmed the good feeling found at the beginning of last weekend as he was among the protagonists of the opening day of action at Misano. The Italian shone in particular in FP2, where he was at times even up to second place, and then finished the day in twelfth place. His 1’36.520secs was only a few tenths away from the leaders, but his direct seed to Q2 is surely not safe ahead of tomorrow morning’s FP3.

Edgar Pons completed almost 40 laps but was unable to finish higher than 24th, even though he made a clear step forward in terms of lap-times. One week ago, the Spaniard’s best time for day one was more than a second slower. The standard bearer of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 will have to recover seven tenths of a second if he wants to battle for a direct seed to Q2 and be among the Free Practice top-14 of the #EmiliaRomagnaGP.

12th – NICOLÒ BULEGA #11 (1’36.520)

“We started well this morning, we’re not far from the leaders and with some little changes – especially about engine braking – we can make a good step forward also in terms of positioning. It will be important to do well already in the morning and get a ‘more relaxed’ qualifying. This is my home track and I want to do well!”

24th – EDGAR PONS #57 (1’37.291)

“We started from scratch, played with the bike and improved compared to last weekend. We know what is not working so we started in a new direction that helped us improve. There’s a lot to do, but we’re trying a lot of solutions with the team in order to have a better feeling with my Kalex machine.”
