ENCOURAGING FRIDAY FOR NAVARRO AT TERMAS

Jorge Navarro has enjoyed a competitive start to the Grand Prix of Argentina by setting the eighth fastest time in today’s two free practice sessions at Termas de Rio Hondo (combined times). The sole standard bearer of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 ended the opening day of action with a personal best lap-time of 1’44.974 – which was the result of a prime performance in FP1.

The adverse weather conditions encountered in the afternoon did not allow the Spanish rider to improve on his morning’s performance, with Navarro half a second away from the top of the timesheets.

Things will get serious tomorrow with FP3 and the second qualifying session of the season, which will take place at 9:55 and 13:00 local time (GMT -3), respectively.

8th – JORGE NAVARRO #9

“This first day has gone well and I must say I did not push 100% this morning – as the track condition were not good enough for that. Only at the very end of the first session I was able to put together a good lap-time. We made an important change to the bike in the afternoon to look for more grip, but I didn’t really feel comfortable due to wind and rain. Unfortunately we couldn’t really try these changes out, but tomorrow we will continue working in this direction.”
