MORE POINTS FOR ZACCONE AT ARAGON

RACE – #AragonGP It was a busy day for the Gresini Family, with their teams and riders racing in Moto2, MotoGP as well as in the Italian Championship. And it was Moto2 the first class to get on track at MotorLand Aragón, with both standard bearers battling for a top 15 finish.

Alessandro Zaccone did indeed achieve the result he was aiming for as he bagged some points for the second race in a row. After a difficult race, the rider #61 managed to get up to speed and bridge the gap with the group ahead of him, overtake after overtake, up to a 14th place at the checkered flag.

Filip Salač had more of a difficult time: the rider #12 started the race from 12th place on the grid but immediately struggling with the front grip, and after a couple of overtakes to defend his top-15 position, he lost some ground and was eventually 17th at the line.

14th – ALESSANDRO ZACCONE #61

“I’m really happy with today’s race, we kept a good pace throughout. I’m a bit sorry for the early laps as I didn’t have a good start and lost a couple of place. I was still able to get up to speed and join the group fighting for tenth position, and I did all the race with them. Because of my comeback I think I wore out the tires a bit too much and that prevented me from attacking further in the last laps. In any case this is a good result, we did a good job: we are charged up for the Asian trip!”

17th – FILIP SALAČ #12

“Not the end to the weekend we were looking for: I started well but from the beginning I was struggling with grip at the front-end, as it happened also in the warmup. It’s a shame to finish the weekend this way, but we’re leaving to Motegi which is one of my favorite track, so we’ll back having fun there.”
