MISSION ACCOMPLISHED FOR ZACCONE: COMEBACK AND BEST RESULT OF THE SEASON
RACE – #SpanishGP It was a race full of excitement and contrasting feelings at the Circuito de Jerez, with Alessandro Zaccone able to put together a great comeback and to score points for the second consecutive encounter, while on the other side of the garage Filip Salač had more of a difficult time.
The rider #61 started the race from 21st place on the grid, but overtake after overtake he managed to move up ten places overall. His feeling with the bike was especially great in the second half, as he logged his quickest lap-time on lap 22nd – in 1’42.883. Zaccone crossed the line 11th and bagged five points that allow him to move to 22nd position in the standings.
It was a difficult race for Filip Salač, who was unable to find the perfect set-up for his bike during the weekend. A poor tyre choice added a further challenge for the Czech, who could not finish any higher than 21st.

“Finally a race where everything went the right way. From the first session of the weekend I had an excellent feeling with the bike and this allowed us to concentrate on the smallest details. Unfortunately I started a little behind on the grid due to yesterday’s qualifying, but I am really satisfied with the work the team has done. Together we managed to build a comeback race with excellent sensations especially in the second part, which allowed me to overtake until the last laps. We now have a solid base from which to start working again in Le Mans”.

“It was a challenging weekend for us, with technical issue that cost us a lot of time: we were unable to evaluate all tyre options and therefore we went for the harder compound, but it turned out to be the wrong choice. The team has done a great job, but it was simply a complicated weekend. Now we need to reset and start from scratch at Le Mans.”
