Team Trentino Gresini MotoEgets a well-deserved title of the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup courtesy of Matteo Ferrari, at the end of what was an excellent season, which culminated with a fifth-place finish in the final race of this two-wheeled electric series.
With two wins a podium and especially no setbacks (he never finished outside the top-five), Matteo Ferrari has in fact dominated a new category of difficult interpretation, as he adapted quickly to the series and finished 11 points ahead of Smith and 28 on Granado.
Matteo Ferrarienters the record books as the first-ever MotoE World Champion. In 2020 he will be defending the recently-earned title – once again racing under the Team Trentino Gresini MotoEbanner.

I’m really happy with this title win. In some ways I’ve entered motorcycle racing history by winning the first edition of this series. When a season like this begins you always think about the title, but months ago it was hard to think that I would have become champion. I must admit that race after race I started thinking about it and today I’m over the moon. I’m part of a great team and we deserved this trophy, especially while racing against such great talents with an impressive amount of experience. Let’s enjoy this moment before trying to work on next year – as we plan to confirm ourselves at the top!”
