ANOTHER POSITIVE TEST FOR LOWES AT JEREZ

After more than two months since his last appearance aboard the Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 Kalex machine, Sam Lowes has returned with the Italian squad to Jerez to continue the preparation work ahead of the season debut – which takes place on the 10thof March.

Mild temperatures have helped the on-track work of the rider #22, who set very encouraging lap times on both days – 1.41.8secs on day one and 1’41.5secs on day two.

The experienced British rider claimed a great feeling with the front-end of the bike and, with the help of Tommaso Raponi and former World Champion Manuel Poggiali, he chose to focus his attention on the bike geometry in order to improve the grip level at the rear-end.

Today there was also time for a long run of around 20 laps, in which the English rider showed already a great form.

Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 will be back in southern Spain from the 20thto the 22ndof February for the last European preseason test, before leaving for Qatar.

SAM LOWES #22

“For me today has been really, really good. We did a good and consistent job and I was able to set my quickest time in the long run on the last lap, which is very positive. We worked hard: we tried many things today and as always in testing there are some positive and some negatives, but I’m really happy with my lap-time. My rhythm is really strong, with many laps in the 1’41s, so I’m looking forward to the test next week and feeling great. Thank you to my crew and the team: it’s nice to be back riding and doing a race run on the first test.”
