FERRARI NARROWLY MISSES ON FRONT ROW IN JEREZ E-POLE

Matteo Ferrari and Team Trentino Gresini’s progression continue as the reigning MotoE World Cup winner finished the E-Pole only 0.069secs away from a possible from row in the Spanish Grand Prix. The Italian rider #11, the only standard bearer for title defending team, did very well in FP3 before capitalising in the fast lap attempt of qualifying by logging a 1’48.945secs time.

Good news also from the other side of the garage as Alessandro Zaccone, after undergoing surgery yesterday afternoon to remove a bone fragment from the left knee femur, has rejoined the team at the track. The rider #61 feels ready to start the recovery process from tomorrow, with the goal to get green light from the medical team on Thursday in order to take part in the second round.

The first of seven MotoE encounters from 2020 will begin tomorrow morning at 10:05 local time (GMT +2)

4th – MATTEO FERRARI #11 (1’48.945)

“It was a positive day: during FP3 we improved our lap times and the bike was better. Now we need to do something in order to be quicker in splits two and three. The positive thing is that we will finally have some footage to study in order to understand how we can improve. This is a good fourth place and to be honest the front row was only a few thousandths of a second away, so tomorrow we will surely be right in the game.”

UNFIT – ALESSANDRO ZACCONE #61

“Surgery went well and we’ll start the recovery process from tomorrow. Generally speaking I feel good and I can only with the bet to Matteo and the team. Work will start tomorrow, then on Thursday I’ll get checked by the Clinica Mobile in order to get green light and get back on track next weekend.”
