ITALY – SPAIN: ANOTHER DOUBLE ROUND FOR GRESINI RACING MOTO2

ITALY-SPAIN: no, we are not talking about the European football finals, but about the next challenge that the Gresini Racing Moto2 team will have to face. Another double weekend of racing with the Mugello circuit opening the dance this weekend; to follow, the Montmeló circuit, in Barcelona on the first week of June.

The first Grand Prix in Italy, Moto2 category, for Alessandro Zaccone: strong emotions will await him on track, the atmosphere for him will be certainly magical. The rider number #61 will try to redeem himself from the last race and work hard to achieve a good result. In Barcelona last year he crossed the finish line one step away from the podium with the MotoE, but he has never faced this track with a Moto2: it will be essential for him to find a good pace from the first session of practice.

Filip Salač arrives in one of his favorite tracks, Mugello, very motivated: in the last race he managed to take a step forward with his Kalex and keep a good race pace. The goal for the weekend will be to continue the work and bring home more points for the championship. He will also have the same goal the following week, in the Spanish circuit, where he will do everything possible to go directly to Q2 and start the race from the front rows.

Moto2 track action starts on Friday  at 10:55 (GMT + 2)

FILIP SALAČ # 12

“After Le Mans race, where I managed to have a good pace until the last lap, I can’t wait to get on track in Mugello: it is one of my favorite circuits and we have taken a step forward that will allow us to get a good result and get a few more points. I will try to do the same in Barcelona: I want to work as we did in Le Mans, but this time I will try to always remain in the top 14: entering Q2 directly and starting from the front rows will make the difference in the race and that’s what we want”.

ALESSANDRO ZACCONE # 61

“I am delighted to be competing at Mugello, my first race in Italy, there will be a special atmosphere and the track is beautiful: I haven’t been racing there for a while so the desire to get on track is even bigger. We will try to work well and redeem myself from last race. I have the same goal also for Barcelona: Mugello and Montmeló are both very long tracks and it will be very important to find a good rhythm from the first free practice session. We’ll have fun!”
