THE #GERMANGP CURSE HITS RODRIGO

The first half of the season draws to a close the worst possible way, with Gabriel Rodrigo out of the #GermanGP after only four corners, due to the high-side by Lopez that the Argentine could not avoid – as he ended up on the ground himself. The rider of TeamKömmerling Gresini Moto3 tried everything he could to stay out on track – hoping for a red flag – but a badly-damaged handlebar forced him to an early retirement after two laps completed.

Riccardo Rossi – who was at his first-ever race at this track – this was another opportunity to gather more experience. The Italian, who lapped with a mid-1’28secs pace, could not finish hither than 22nd, with more than 30secs from the winner at the chequered flag. This race wrapped up a difficult first-half of the season for the Moto3 rookie, but the rhythm shown in the second half of the race was surely encouraging.

With a month-break ahead, both team and riders will regroup in order to return to action on best form at Brno on early August.

DNF – GABRI RODRIGO #19

“There’s not much I can say. Unfortunately this first half of the season has been quite unkind to us, and today it was surely the lowest point. These things happen, but it’s a shame because we had the pace to stay with the leaders and the team deserves more. We will take this break to find a bit more serenity in order to turn this 2019 around at Brno and Spielberg.

22nd– RICCARDO ROSSI #54

“We made a big step forward compared to Friday, on a track that was new to me although I can say I really liked it. It was only my second race with the hard tyre and the feeling is good. We need to work hard to find a better pace in order to challenge for the top-15 after the summer break.”
