SALAČ ELEVENTH AT THE LINE IN SEPANG

RACE – #MalaysianGP The most-typical Malaysian Sunday, with plenty of humidity and heat, saw the penultimate race of the season took place – the last before the return to Europe. The day began with a question mark for Filip Salač, who had injured his left hand in qualifying. The rider #12 lined up on 18th place on the grid and rode through the pain up to an 11th place at the checkered flag that feels like a podium.

Alessandro Zaccone, on the other hand, had an unlucky race: the Italian rider, who started the race from twenty-seventh place on the grid, had to immediately avoid some opponents who crashed ahead of him, which made him lose touch with the group ahead. After nine laps, and following a bit of a moment he opted for an early retirement.

11th – FILIP SALAČ #12

“A difficult Sunday. Yesterday I thought I wouldn’t even have been able to race, but I didn’t give up. The pain was really strong: I was struggling under braking and while changing direction during warm up already – two areas that require plenty of strength in the hands. I started the race well and at some point I even battled for ninth place, but then the pain was too much in the last four laps due to the bike vibrations; I couldn’t handle it the way I wanted and lost some positions. I’m still proud that I finished the race, which was one of the most difficult of my career, in eleventh place. Now we think about Valencia!”

DNF – ALESSANDRO ZACCONE #61

“A race to forget. I had to run out of track at the start to avoid other riders who crashed, which made me lose touch with the rest of the field. I got back into the swing of things but then after a jolt I felt like a twinge in my knee, which I had injured at Phillip Island, so I decided to pull out of the race.”
