FERRARI BACK IN TOP-FIVE IN IN AUSTRIA
It was a race of unkowns at Spielberg’s Red Bull Ring, where Team Trentino Gresini MotoE had to tackle a five-lap “sprint race” which was held in mixed conditions.
After qualifying in seventh place, Matteo Ferrari got a good start and looked at times capable to battle for the podium. A small mistake a turn three kind of ruined his top-three hopes, but the Italian did well in make up partially for the error and finish fifth.
Savadori also had an encouraging race following the DNF at Sachsenring: the former STK1000 champion finished tenth and can now look ahead at the next race in Misano – taking place in a month’s time – with fresh confidence.

“I did well – and I was also lucky – because I took a big risk at turn three and I ended up one cm away from the gravel. This mistake took me out of podium contention, but it was still a positive race as conditions were new and therefore difficult.”

“Overall it was not bad. With so little number of laps and given my starting position it was hard to make a comeback. On the straight the gap got bigger immediately and it was hard to bridge it without slipstream. Top-ten is a good result upon which we’ll try to build the next races.”
