LOPEZ AND GARCIA READY FOR A TRIPLE HEADER: AUSTRALIA, MALAYSIA AND QATAR
After a short week off, the ITALJET GRESINI Moto2 team is ready to get back on track for an intense three-round overseas campaign. The action kicks off in Australia, at the spectacular Phillip Island circuit overlooking the ocean, before moving to Malaysia, where riders and team will face the heat and challenges of the Sepang International Circuit. The triple-header will come to a close in Qatar, with its iconic night race.
Alonso Lopez, on the #21 Kalex, is ready to fight his way back towards the front. After a comeback race in Indonesia, where he showed strong speed and race pace, the Spanish rider is aiming to take another step forward over the next three rounds. Strong qualifying performances will be crucial to give him the best possible chance of fighting for a good result on race day.
Sergio Garcia, meanwhile, arrives after a challenging run of weekends. The #3 rider is looking to adopt a different approach heading into the triple-header, pushing himself to regain competitiveness and finish the season on a positive note.

Phillip Island, in particular, suits my riding style very well, but in Malaysia and Qatar, too, I want to make the most of our full potential and see what we can achieve.”

“I want to start this triple-header with a different mindset: I want to try to fight for points, so it will be crucial to be ready, both mentally and physically. Also, this will be the last year at Phillip Island, so the atmosphere will be even more special. Temperatures will be lower than at the previous races, and that will definitely help me. Then we will head to the heat of Malaysia, where I really like the Sepang track, before finishing in Qatar. I want to challenge myself and try to fight for a place in the top 15.”
