CHALLENGING QUALIFYING FOR TEAM QJMOTOR GRESINI AT ASSEN

Qualifying – #DutchGP Saturday turned out to be an uphill battle for the Czech rider: after setting the third-quickest time in the morning’s FP3 in 1’36.323, the temperatures at the TT Circuit Assen rose and Filip Salač struggled to find the right speed – eventually finishing qualifying in 13th place.

Forced to go through Q1, Jeremy Alcoba logged a 1’36.983 lap-time, the second quickest in the session, and therefore made it through qualifying two. The Spanish rider did not manage, however, to match the same lap-time in the second session and will start tomorrow’s race from 18th place on the grid, with a comeback and a top-ten result in mind.

13th – FILIP SALAČ #12 (1’36.850)

“It wasn’t an easy qualifying: it was really hot and we knew we would have struggled in these conditions. Then during the sessions there were plenty of yellow flag situations and I also encountered some traffic. Surely it wasn’t our best qualifying. It will likely be even hotter tomorrow so we’ll have to work a lot this afternoon in order to make a step forward during the race.”

18th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (1’37.691)

“Quite a unique day, starting from FP3 where I thought I would have managed to get seeded directly to Q2 – but that didn’t happen. We made a step forward in Q1 but then I kind of lost myself in Qualifying two, things went quite bad and with used tyres I couldn’t do a quick lap-time at the end of the session. There’s still a lot of work to do as we’re far from the leaders. The goal for tomorrow will be the top ten.”
