Bad Weather Disrupts Mugello Post-Race Test For Gresini Racing Team Moto3

Fresh from an incredible Italian Grand Prix, which saw Fabio Di Giannantonio finish on the podium for the first time, the Gresini Racing Team Moto3 remained at Mugello today to face a day of testing which was, however, strongly conditioned by the bad weather.

In the morning the rain made the track wet, with Bastianini and Di Giannantonio who preferred to stay in the pits; then in the afternoon, with a dry track, the strong wind disturbed significantly the riders on track. Both the 18-year-old from Rimini and the 17-year-old from Rome therefore completed only a few laps without the chance to work on the set up of their Honda NSF250RW machines.

The Gresini Racing Moto3 Team will be back in action at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya next 5 June for the Grand Prix of Catalunya, seventh round of the 2016 campaign.

ENEA BASTIANINI
“Due to the bad weather conditions this test day proved to be not very productive: in the morning the track was wet, then in the afternoon it was dry but there was a lot of wind and consequently lap times were higher than we expected. In these conditions it was not possible to work on the bike to try to solve the problems we had in the race, so I only completed about twenty laps. We still had a chance to run in strong wind conditions, understanding different things if this situation will occur again in the next races”.

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“Actually today was almost useless: the rain, then the strong wind didn’t allow us to work on the bike set-up. Therefore we just put in a few laps without making any change, just taking it as a workout!”.
