Bastianini And Di Giannantonio Complete Productive Test At Brno
After the German Grand Prix the Gresini Racing Team Moto3 moved to Czech Republic for two days of testing at the Brno Circuit: Enea Bastianini, fresh from the third place finish in the wet at Sachsenring, hit the track only on Tuesday 19 July, while his team mate Fabio Di Giannantonio, excellent fifth placed three days ago thanks to a great comeback, was on track also on Wednesday 20 July.
Bastianini enjoyed a very positive day of testing, covering many kilometers (69 laps in total), focusing on some set-up solutions on his Honda NSF250RW machine, in particular to improve the front end feeling. For this purpose the 18-year-old rider from Rimini tried also some new parts made available by Honda.
Also Di Giannantonio finished the test with a smile: the 17-year-old rookie from Rome, on track for two days, first worked hard on the suspension, then he focused on the new parts brought by Honda, getting good results.
ENEA BASTIANINI
“We used this test to try some new parts on the bike: I’m satisfied because it seems that they work pretty well and above all, after a very wet Grand Prix in Germany, I enjoyed to be back riding in the dry on a beautiful track like Brno, which is one of my favorites. In the first part of the day the track was dirt and this complicated a bit the proceedings, but then we managed to do a good job throughout the day, completing a lot of laps and collecting a lot of information. A really positive test!”.
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“After the two crashes during the German Grand Prix practices I was a bit tired, so I was not one hundred percent for this test. Therefore we started the first day calmly: we had a lot of work to do, but knowing that we had two days available we tried to spread it in a good way. The first day went pretty well, although I was not very fast: the work focused on the suspension. In the second day we tried new parts brought by Honda: this was a new experience for me and it was very nice to work with HRC technicians, who gave us a great hand. In the end I tried to push to get a fast lap and the results were good also from this side. We found a good base for this track, and I think the one where we go next also for the next GP in Austria: I’m very happy, this was probably the best test we have done so far!”.
