BRNO AND SPIELBERG TO OPEN SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON
Two back-to-back races – which did not go as planned – took the series to the halfway point, and now the second half begins with two more back-to-back races, with Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 still trying to square the circle with both their riders Gabriel Rodrigo and Riccardo Rossi.
The Argentine, which is the one with the biggest expectations of the two, is currently 11th in the championship standings and 75 points away from the top. With one pole position, two more front row starts and three fourth places, it is clear what is needed to step up. On the other side of the garage Rossi, who is still in his rookie season, is expected to improve in the last 10 rounds, with the top-15 as the first goal for the Italian.
Brno and Spielberg are two kind tracks for Rodrigo: two pole positions (in 2017 and last year) plus a fifth and an eighth in the races. Rossi, on the other hand, will once again need to get to grips with one of the two tracks, but he already reckons they might suit his style.

“Both Brno and Spielberg are circuits I have fond memories of, and I like a lot. Two years ago I took two consecutive pole positions between Brno and Spielberg and last year I did one of my best races in Czech Republic. We managed to get a breather, we rested and did a reset which surely helped the whole team. Now we need to start back and face the second half of the championship with another mindset, while grabbing those results we deserve.”

“Austria is a track that I like and suits my characteristics well, so I can’t wait to get there. There is Brno before that, a track that I studied during this break and that reminds me of Mugello, as it’s important to be very fast entering the turns. I’m positive – I trained really hard during this time – with a lot of bicycle, a lot of gym. We are charged up for these back-to-back races.”
