DIGGIA AND MARTIN LOOKING FOR MORE AT COTA

The last extra-European event of the early part of the 2018 MotoGP World Championship is around the corner, with Team Del Conca Gresini Moto3 looking for strong results at COTA in the Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas.

Last year’s edition of the US GP was the only chance – so far – to see the two Gresini riders together on the podium, with Martin second ahead of his team mate Di Giannantonio – with the latter only 19 thousandths of a second behind the Spaniard at the chequered flag. After the first two events of the season, which saw Martin dominating in Qatar and Diggia getting his first rostrum finish of the year at Termas, Austin will be the chance for both rider to continue bagging points, with the goal to return to Europe with the highest possible total.

Martin is currently second in the championship standings with 30 points, whereas Di Giannantonio is four points behind his teammate in fourth place.

JORGE MARTIN #88

“Austin is a track I really like and I can’t wait to race there, as we come off a quite difficult weekend, where we lacked a little bit of experience to make the right decisions. We want to keep the positive part of the Argentina GP anyway, as we were very fast and competitive there. We are now heading to Texas to win and to show we can do great things on a track that suits my style well.”

FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21

“This track has been kind to us: the first year I raced there I got my first top-20 finish, while last year I got on the podium. We get to USA knowing we can be fast so we’ll try to have a great weekend there, too. It’s a really particular and long track, so slipstreams will be crucial especially in qualifying. We’ll be ready for it.”
