A SUNDAY TO FORGET FOR DIGGIA AT BRNO

Without Jorge Martin, who was sidelined by the pain in his recently-operated right ankle, Team Del Conca Gresini Moto3 took part in the Czech GP Moto3 with the only Fabio Di Giannantonio. From the third row of the grid, the young Italian could not find his rhythm on the wet strip of asphalt of the Automotodrom Brno and, therefore, he finished no higher than 21st place.

It was a difficult race for Fabio, who lost a lot of ground in the early stages and found himself at the back of the field. He was visibly disappointed, especially because Brno is one of his favourite tracks on the MotoGP calendar and one where he did well last year (3rd place in the race).

On a good note, Diggia will not have to wait too long yo try and make amends for today’s performance, as the MotoGP paddock will head straight to Austria, where the second of two back-to-back races will take place in exactly a week’s time.

21st – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #21

“It’s been quite an unusual race: I had no feeling whatsoever in the first few laps; I tried to improve my pace and I partly did it, although I was still not as quick as the guys at the front. At one point, the gap was so big that it was basically impossible to make it back to the front and, when I found some consistency with my pace, my feeling with the bike was still too little. I didn’t feel comfortable in these conditions from Friday already, and things surely didn’t improve today. We also have to look at the bright side, though, which was my speed on the dry. We will try to make amends in Austria.”
