DI GIANNANTONIO JOINS HONDA IN WORLD SUPERBIKE FOR A DAY
Team Del Conca Gresini Moto3’s Fabio Di Giannantonio was the guest star today at Imola’s ‘Autodromo Enzo and Dino Ferrari’, where he joined his fellow Honda riders and Red Bull athletes Nicky Hayden and Stefan Bradl, who were competing in the fifth round of the FIM Superbike World Championship.
The 19-year-old Italian rider, who lives one-hour drive away from the circuit, took part in a series of activities – organised by the Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team and by MotoGP and World Superbike series organiser Dorna – and was warmly welcomed by the big and passionate Italian crowd.
‘Diggia’ joined Hayden and Bradl in the morning’s pit-walk, which was followed closely by a photo opportunity, before taking part in a meet and greet session with guests from Honda, Barracuda, Castrol and Red Bull. After a round-table interview with Italian and international media, Fabio paid a quick visit to the World Superbike paddock show and, last but not least, he went on the grid for the start of race two, standing next to both Honda riders.

“I’ve been a Superbike fan since I was a little kid: it’s not a case that I’m using the number 21 on my Gresini bike as my all-time hero is Troy Bayliss! It’s been an honour to be invited by the Red Bull Honda World Superbike Team: Hayden is a legend and it was a pleasure to get to meet him, while it was good to see Stefan again after last year, when we were both racing with Gresini. It’s not my first time at Superbike race: there’s a great and warm atmosphere in the paddock and the fans are always amazing, especially here in Italy!”
