#DUTCHGP: RODRIGO OUT OF TOP-TEN DUE TO PENALTY, ROSSI FURTHER BACK
With a six-position grid penalty on one side and an absolute debut on one of the toughest tracks on the calendar, Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 were not among the favourites heading into #DutchGP qualifying.
Gabriel Rodrigo and Riccardo Rossi will therefore line up on the 16th and 30th positions of the grid in tomorrow’s eighth race of the year. For the Italian it will be – without a doubt – a challenging race: Rossi did not hide his difficulties to adapt to the ‘Cathedral’, but a good start and a reference point ahead will surely be important to make experience and find some confidence back ahead of the upcoming rounds.
Despite a sixth-row start, Rodrigo is expecting a very different race: the Argentine rider has the pace to stay near the front and tomorrow – with 22 laps available – it will be important to be focused and patient.

“I wasn’t completely at ease on the bike, so I preferred to stay with the group during the first qualifying run. I made a few mistakes and lost some tenths. I could have started from a much better position, but we still have a good race pace and I’m confident ahead of tomorrow. I also had a big moment, with a gear that didn’t get in perfect position – it was a big risk, but things went well.”
30th– RICCARDO ROSSI #54
“I’m obviously disappointed. I did a decent lap, but I went wide in the last split by making a big mistake and lost a lot of time. This track is very difficult and especially without a slipstream like it happened in the final minutes of the session. Tomorrow we’ll try to do something good and we will surely go for the softer tyre.”
