Di Giannantonio fastest as Jerez test comes to a close. Positive first contact for Martin
Yesterday at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit the Team Del Conca Gresini Moto3 closed the first successful test in preparation for the 2017 season: the second of the two days of testing at the Andalusian circuit saw Fabio Di Giannantonio on top of the timesheets with an excellent 1’46”995, while Jorge Martin ended close behind with a positive 1’47” 188.
Before setting the fastest time, Di Giannantonio continued to work together with the team on the set-up of his Honda NSF250RW machine, focusing in particular on the behaviour of the bike on used tyres. On the other side of the garage, Martin continued to get to grip with the bike and the team, always keeping fast lap times and focusing on improving his feeling under braking.
The team now moves to Valencia for the last two days of testing of the year, scheduled for 21 and 22 November, before the winter break.

“It was a second very positive second day of testing: I did just a few laps, only 20, but we managed to do a good job. In the first three runs in fact we worked on used tyres, then once we found a good set-up on the last run we put the soft tyre. I’m very happy because I think that I was able to make the most of, so finally our lap time was also the fastest of the day. It was not our goal, but it’s always nice to finish like that. We leave Jerez very happy, now we look forward to Valencia!”.

“Yesterday in the second and final day of testing in Jerez I only did 26 laps, but I’m satisfied with the work done: I’m starting to feel really comfortable on the bike and I think that we took a step forward compared to the first day of test. We keep working on braking, an area on which we can still improve further, but little by little we are getting good lap times. I’m very happy with this first contact and I can’t wait to go back on track for the next test in Valencia!”.
