NAVARRO TO TURN THE PAGE ON THAILAND AT MOTEGI

Less than fifteen days have passed since Jorge Navarro’s unfortunate race performance at Buriram: in this short period of time, the young Spaniard was able to relax, refocus, regroup and train while staying over in Thailand. The goal for Jorge is now to shine at Motegi, the venue hosting the sixteenth Grand Prix of the season this weekend.

The rider of team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 already knows the feeling of stepping onto the Japanese podium by finishing third in 2015; last year, on the other hand, he experienced a much harder weekend – which was heavily affected by very changeable weather.

There is still time and motivation to start this “triplete” (Japan, Australian and Malesia) the best possible way, hopefully by returning to the type of form shown at Aragon on a track like Motegi that could favour the Kalex number 9. Proceedings will begin on Friday at 10:55 local time (GMT+9).

 JORGE NAVARRO #9

“It’s clear that in Thailand we could have deserved more, so we’re motivated and charged up for this three-round trip. We start in Japan, where last year weather conditions and lack of feeling made it a very complicated weekend. The hope is that weather will be on our side, because with a fully-dry weekend we know we can work well and aim high. Australia and Malesia are next, and we know we could be strong in Sepang as we did already the set-up work for that extra-humid conditions in Buriram. Let’s wait and see, and make sure to start things off well in Motegi.”
