NAVARRO LOOKING FOR IMPROVEMENTS AFTER OPENING DAY AT ASSEN

Jorge Navarro did not enjoy the best of starts in this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix, the eighth event of the 2017 Moto2 World Championship. After the encouraging results of Mugello and Montmelò, the Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 rider finished no higher than 20th with a personal quickest lap of 1’39.205.

The 21-year-old Spaniard was one of the most active riders on track as he completed a total of 32 laps between the sessions; Jorge, however, could not find the perfect feeling with his Kalex Honda machine also due to a crash during FP1, when he jumped off the bike after going straight at turn 3 to avoid a bigger impact.

Navarro is still, after all, only one second from the top of the timesheets: with a good progression and an improvement at the front-end of the bike between FP3 and qualifying, the former Moto3 title contender will have a chance to return in the top-10 and be readier for Sunday’s race.

20th – JORGE NAVARRO #9

“It’s been an unusual day and we struggled a bit more compared to the last two events. I didn’t have a good feeling with the bike this morning so we tried some bigger changes to the set-up straight away. We did improve a little, but there’s still a lot more to do in order to be perfectly comfortable on the bike. The focus will be to improve the front-end of the bike, so that I can attack the fast turns a bit better.”
