NAVARRO: “WE CAN DO GREAT THINGS TOMORROW”

Jorge Navarro is once again twelfth after the qualifying session of the Moto2 class at #MalaysianGP and will therefore line up on the fourth row of the grid for the penultimate race of the year. It was not an easy day for the young Spanish rider, who had a hard time in finding the right set-up for his Kalex machine due to limited dry track-time available and struggled with grip and front-end feeling.

The Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 rider managed to bounce back in the last outing of qualifying practice by logging a 2’06.901 lap-time, with only a few thousandths of a second separating him from the riders in second and third rows.

While hoping for more favourable weather, Navarro and the team will try to make some further steps forward in tomorrow’s warm up in order to be as competitive as possible for the 18-lap Moto2 race at Sepang, which will get underway at 13:20 local time (GMT+8).

12th– JORGE NAVARRO #9

“This morning we found ourselves at work in difficult conditions because the track was dry but had some damp patches all around, so weren’t able to make the most of the session. In qualifying things changed, but in the first outing I wasn’t comfortable with the bike and the front tucked at basically every corner entry. In the following runs – and especially in the last one – we were able to improve quite a bit; if we manage to find something more in the warmup, then we can have a great race.”
