NAVARRO: “WE WILL BE READY IN ANY CONDITION”
Only 0.241secs separates Jorge Navarro from the provisional pole position set by Bagnaia after Friday’s two free practice sessions of the Austrian Grand Prix by. The rider of team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 had only one dry session available – the morning one – but was nevertheless able to get a good feeling aboard his Kalex machine as he completed around twenty laps with a best lap-time of 1’30.682secs.
The young Spaniard was among the protagonists of this morning’s FP session, as he stayed near the front for the majority of the time available before dropping down to ninth but still very close to the top in terms of performance.
With the afternoon’s pouring rain halting Navarro’s progression, the Moto2 field will return to action tomorrow morning at 10:05 local time (GMT +2) for Free Practice 3, which will be followed at 15:05 by the qualifying session of the eleventh round of the season – which is currently underway at Spielberg’s Red Bull Ring.

“It was surely a positive day, especially this morning in dry conditions as our feeling was very positive. We did a few laps in the afternoon under the rain, but we did not want to take any unnecessary risk. Let’s hope that the track will be dry tomorrow morning, but we’ll be ready even if it rains.”
