FIRST HOME RACE OF THE YEAR FOR TEAM DEL CONCA GRESINI MOTO3
The Moto3 World Championship returns to action, after a weekend off, at one of the most spectactular venues on the MotoGP calendar: the Mugello Circuit. Team Del Conca Gresini Moto3 arrive at the first home race of the season in confident mood, following Jorge Martin’s pole position and Fabio Di Giannantonio’s podium at Le Mans a fortnight ago.
The Rome-born rider had a special weekend a year ago, as he clinched his first world championship podium. ‘Diggia’ is looking forward to delighting the Italian crowd with a great performance. With 51 points under his belt, Fabio wants to get closer to the top of the standings and, in order to do so, his priority number one will be a better qualifying performance – which would make his life easier in the race.
Despite three pole positions and podiums so far in the season, Martin needs a good result after the DNF of France. The young Spanish rider has had a really encouraging test at Misano and is now ready to battle for the top step of the rostrum. Martin is fifth in the title race with a 40-point gap from the leader.
