RODRIGO E ROSSI TO GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY AT MONTMELÓ

Two Sundays ago, Gabriel Rodrigo and Riccardo Rossi left the Mugello Circuit with a bitter taste in their mouths. Albeit with different goals in their minds, both riders were looking very good before it was race time in Italy. It is time now to roll up the sleeves as Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 is ready to return to action for the seventh event of the 2019 season.

The Catalan track – which hosted an important one-day test a couple of weeks ago – already saw Gabri Rodrigo on the podium in 2018, while Rossi has amassed plenty of laps thanks to his previous experience in the CEV.

The first free practice for Moto3 will begin at 9:00 local time (GMT+2). Good weather and mild temperatures (which could get near 30°C on Sunday) are expected.

GABRI RODRIGO #19

“I’m really charged up for the Catalunya Grand Prix, which as much as the Argentina one feels like home. It’s a track I have fond memories of – above all my first podium last year. I’ve always been quick and competitive there. The test was really positive and at Mugello our level of performance was really high – race aside. We need to leave that mistake behind and it’s now time to repay the fans and the team for their support.”

RICCARDO ROSSI #54

“Two weeks ago, in the Barcelona test, I found very comfortable riding with the softer tyre and a little less with the harder one. The first option seems to be wearing out a little too soon, so we need to work harder with the latter for the race. Mugello had its ups, like FP3 and warm up for example as I wasn’t too far off the leaders. Unfortunately we didn’t capitalise, so… we’ll try even harder in Barcelona!”
