IT IS MUGELLO TIME AND TEAM DEL CONCA GRESINI MOTO3 IS READY FOR BATTLE
Team Del Conca Gresini Moto3 are ready to right the wrongs at Mugello – which is considered by many as THE track – following the unfortunate incidents of Le Mans, with a crash with no blame of Martin on the last lap and a penalty inflicted to Di Giannantonio keeping both riders away from the podium.
At his home track Fabio Di Giannantonio, currently second in the championship standings and only four points away from the lead, has been on the podium in both of his world championship appearances: no doubt the Italian wishes to continue this trend and maybe try to make amends after what happened in the French GP.
Jorge Martin will be looking to continue working the same way he has done so far. The Spaniard is fourth in the title race despite being only eight points shy of the lead; after two ‘unlucky’ DNFs, Martin is eager to return to the type of results he is capable of achieving, although a whole week of fever has prevented him from training: a quick return to full fitness will therefore be necessary.

“There’s nothing like Mugello. This is the race everybody awaits for the whole year, and it’s my favourite track. We got on the podium in the last two editions and, after the ‘almost-win’ at Le Mans, I really want to do well. We want to right the wrongs with the same energy that Mugello gives you. I can’t wait to be there to get the battle started.”

“We need to get back to the type of results we know we can score, because we never lost confidence in our potential. Mugello is a fantastic track and it will be helpful to race there, as we’re in what might be our worst moment. So far, I never really did too well at this track, but we got very close to a good result in the last two editions. We will need to work on the braking side of the bike in order to have the edge while overtaking, because it’s going to be crowded race for the win.”
