#ALCANIZGP: RODRIGO FROM Q1 TO SECOND ROW

Gabriel Rodrigo has enjoyed a very positive Saturday after a last-second crash in FP2 and a 25-minute penalty this morning FP3. First he managed to finish in the top four in Q1 and made it through, and then narrowly missed the front row for tomorrow’s #AlcanizGP. The standard bearer of Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 missed the top three for only 17 thousandths of a second, and he will line up on the fourth slot of the grid.

Jeremy Alcoba did the opposite thing after finishing day one in second place as he might have missed some experience (totally understandable) in Q2. Despite setting his quickest lap of the weekend so far, with no slipstream he could not finish any higher than 14th. Tomorrow, he will be forced to put together another comebacknfrom 11:20 local time (GMT +2).

4th – GABRIEL RODRIGO (1’57.561)

“It’s been a strange day: this morning, the track was very fast but we didn’t have much time available… we knew we’d have to go through Q1. We did a really good job then, and in Q2 we chose to go for one outing only. Obviously we want to do well tomorrow to enjoy my 100th race, but generally speaking we’re using these last races to prepare for 2021.”

14th – JEREMY ALCOBA (1’58.076)

“I’m not too happy with my qualifying. We need to improve in this department and I need to get a bit more clevee because I don’t seem to be able to put the perfect lap together. We’re starting far from the front of the grid again but we’ll try to take advantage of other quick riders coming from behind to get back in the leading group. We have a good setup for the race so the starting position might not be that much of a problem.”
