ASSEN – SACHSENRING: DOUBLE OPPORTUNITY FOR TEAM KOMMERLING GRESINI MOTO3

Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 are rolling up their sleeves after a brace of disappointing results at Mugello and Montmeló, and now gears up for the two back-to-back events in the Netherlands and Germany which will wrap up the first part of the season.

Gabriel Rodrigo arrives to Assen with great motivation: the pole position he scored in Catalunya once again proved – if there was still need – that the Argentine has the speed to be among the protagonist of this season. A focused and calm approach will be needed on a track like Assen that the 19 likes and in which he has always finished within the top-eight.

Riccardo Rossi will be riding around the ‘Cathedral’ for the first time ever. The Italian is back to full fitness after the FP3 crash in Catalunya and he cannot wait to test his skills on such a legendary track. The #54 will be in unknown territory in both events, as he will be making his debut also at Sachsenring.

GABRI RODRIGO #19

This is a very important moment for me: we already showed we can be at top level with speed and riding style. We are doing really well with the team and we got to a point in which I can be very fast and competitive without stressing myself too much or having to use slipstreams. To be seeing the podium from so close made us bump into some mistakes and then we came out empty handed from the two Grand Prix. Assen will be a very important race on a track that I really like. We need to stay calm and take one step at a time. We know our potential and how high we can aim. Then it will be Sachsenring, a track that suits well both my Honda and my riding style. We’re looking forward to these two back-to-back races and our motivation is as high as ever.”

RICCARDO ROSSI #54

“Assen is a very beautiful and technical track. I never raced there but thanks to my PS4 I’m getting to known it a little. We will have to work well from the first session in order to fully understand this track. I’m watching some previous races, too: the last part, with the long left-hander and the final chicane is really top-level. We will need to be aggressive because there’ll be a lot of coming together, I’m sure. I know nothing about the Sachsenring right now, but I will start having a look at it after Assesn. We are doing things one step at a time while trying to pile up experience and grow.”
