Bastianini and Di Giannantonio ready to race on home turf at Misano
The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli is hosting this weekend one of the most important events of the season for the Gresini Racing Team Moto3: the Grand Prix of San Marino and Riviera di Rimini. For the whole team, as well as for the riders Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio, this is in fact the second home race after the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello.
A race especially important for Enea Bastianini, winner of last year’s edition: the 18-year-old racer from Rimini, who was fighting for the podium also last Sunday at Silverstone, will attempt to repeat the same result this result on a track where he has always shown a great competitiveness.
Also for Fabio Di Giannantonio the Misano event has a special flavor: the 17-year-old rookie from Rome, who is living in Romagna in between the races, is determined to follow up the positive streak of results that saw him collect no fewer than 92 points in the last seven races.
ENEA BASTIANINI
“I have good memories of Misano, so the expectations are certainly high for this race. For me it’s a real home race, the track being only 20 minutes from where I live! It would be nice to repeat the result of last year, but as we know in Moto3 every race is different and hard-fought. We also saw it at Silverstone, where there were many riders fighting for the win in the leading group. At least, on paper this Gran Prix promises to be less difficult: I think that there will be less riders fighting at the top”.
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO
“We did a great race at Silverstone, so we get to Misano with an incredible charge! We are determined to continue this positive streak, so we will try to be fast right from the first free practice in order to make a good job, just like we did in England, then we’ll see how it goes. I like the track and racing at home is always positive, but it must be said that many riders are very strong at Misano, so it won’t be easy, definitely! We will start from a good base set-up thanks to the test we made here last ay, but of course we need to keep working to improve further”.

“We are preparing for a very important event for the whole team, as well as for the riders: last year we got a great win with Enea, so we are confident that we can get another great result. In the last races we have shown a good competitiveness, hitting some good placements with both riders, so the goal is to repeat ourselves here in Misano!”.
