#BRITISHGP: NAVARRO DOES WELL ON THE DRY

Jorge Navarro’sfirst day at Silverstone draws to a close with an encouraging performance and feeling with the bike, especially in the morning’s dry first session of free practice. The Spaniard was eighth at the end of FP1 – as well as in the combined times from today’s two session – and less than eight tenths away from provisional pole as he enjoyed riding his Kalex machine #9 with hard tyres.

Navarro’s feeling in the afternoon session was a lot different as the track was soaked wet, and the rider of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2was never comfortable around the long and fast English circuit. Jorge was 18thfastest after completing 12 laps.

The good news is that the rain should become a memory for the next two days as sun is forecast upon Silverstone. Moto2 action will resume with FP3 at 10:55 local time (GMT +1), which will be followed by qualifying at 15:05.

8th– JORGE NAVARRO #9

“This morning we had time to do a good job: we tried both tyre options and I can say that – surprisingly – I feel a lot more comfortable with the harder one! The soft tyre wears out a bit too much and makes the bike slide. Things weren’t as good in the afternoon with the rain: I stayed out on track as much as I could and tomorrow – whatever the weather will be – we will try to improve.”
