INDONESIAN RACING GRESINI MOTO3 READY FOR MUGELLO-MONTMELÓ BACK-TO-BACK

Ten days and two Grand Prix to give some direction to the season of Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3 Team who gets ready for the Italian-Catalan back-to-back events.

Mugello. The team has not been seen on the podium there since 2018, when Martin and Diggia gave the squad a dream one-two following a disastrous Le Mans round. The French trip was also one to forget for Rodrigo and Alcoba, so the Tuscan hills could bring a breath of fresh air and good results. Gabriel Rodrigo has a best result of fourth in 2018, while Jeremy Alcoba will have to do some study prior to the event, as he is yet to turn wheels on the spectacular Italian track.

Montmelò. It is a different story there, because this is going to be the home round for both Gresini riders. Jeremy Alcoba knows the track like the back of his hand (he already won there in the CEV) while Rodrigo has a pole position and a podium finish from 2018.

The start of the 2021 season has seen great speed and poor results for the Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3 team and the goal is to change the momentum starting from Mugello. Moto3 proceedings will begin this Friday at 9am local time (GMT +2).

GABRIEL RODRIGO #2 (13th in the championship standings – 25 points)

“These are two track I love, both Mugello and Montmeló. We haven’t been in Italy in quite a while and I know that even without crowd this is going to be an important event for my team and I care about it a lot. What can I say about Barcelona, I had my best results there and it’s a home round for me. I have been in a level of form that I never reached before and even though the last two races haven’t been good for us, these back-to-back rounds are the best way to leave poor results behind. We will have to work hard but we showed we can be quick in every conditions and Mugello and Montmeló will be no exception.”

JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (15th – 18 points)

“I cannot wait to rider at Mugello, which is a new track for me. It looks like an incredible one, but I won’t know it for sure until I try it so I’m counting down the days. We need to leave Le Mans behind so two back-to-back races will be good for us: we know we can be quick and we need to show it at every round. It will be a different story at Barcelona as it’s a track I know and like: last year a long-lap penalty took away my chances to do well, so we’ll try to avoid it this time.”
