CHALLENGING HOME QUALIFYING FOR RODRIGO AS ROSSI FINISHES 26TH
The #ArgentinaGP qualifying session proved to be an uphill one for Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3, who did not shine at Termas de Rio Hondo’s – the venue of the second event of the 2019 MotoGP season – today.
There is surely something to regret for home rider Gabriel Rodrigo, who after showing great speed on the opening day, could not go any higher than 13thin a Q2 session that was affected by a lot of traffic on track. The crash suffered in the morning surely cost him some confidence with his Honda NSF250RW machine – although fortunately the Argentine was unhurt after the tumble.
Riccardo Rossi had a solid qualifying: his 26thposition on the grid for tomorrow’s race is without a doubt a good step forward compared to Qatar and will put the Italian in the condition to battle for a top-15 finish – on a track that was completely new to him prior to yesterday.
The second race of the 2019 Moto3 World Championship will get underway at noon local time (GMT -3), which will be preceded by the warm up at 9:40.
13th– GABRI RODRIGO #19
“Things didn’t go as we hoped. We had a good pace in FP3 but I ended up crashing due to a coming together with a rival. Unfortunately we need to find our way through this new qualifying format because there was way too much traffic in the last minute – and we are now way back on the grid. I’m a little bit upset because I know our potential is a lot higher than this, but we have pace and time to do well tomorrow. If it rains, it will be my first on a Honda, but we’ll be ready for it.”

“I must say that this morning I didn’t do things as I should/would have and we lost quite a bit of time. Having said so, I’m really happy with my lap-time in today’s qualifying. It’s definitely a step forward compared to Qatar and we just need to work hard and hope to do well tomorrow – as rain could be also a factor…”
