TEAM DEL CONCA GRESINI READY FOR SEASON OPENER IN QATAR
With the winter season about to draw to a close, Team Del Conca Gresini Moto3 are ready for the opening event of 2018 at Losail, Qatar.
One year ago, both Di Giannantonio and Jorge Martin showed great speed around the fast-flowing 5.4km circuit as the Italian finished the Moto3 race in eighth place while his new team mate made an excellent debut with the squad led by Fausto Gresini by crossing the line third.
This year both riders will be aiming for the top step of the podium, although the quarter-litre class of MotoGP will have to deal with high temperatures, as the race for this category won’t be held under floodlights anymore – the start is in fact scheduled at 16:00 local time (GMT +3).
Moto3 action will get underway this Friday at 12:50.

“We head to Qatar with the aim to do great things. We worked really well during the winter and found a nice base set-up. I still don’t feel 100% comfortable on the bike, but I’m sure the two days of practice at Losail will help me find the perfect feeling with my Honda. We can be among the protagonists of the weekend, and if we can solve some little issue under braking I think we will be able to get in the mix of the win.”

“We’re really charged up! It’s finally been a pre-season without setbacks as we worked with a different approach and great motivation. The new bike is not only beautiful, but also – and especially – ready. We did a lot of laps, except in the last test due to the rain, and we improved in each and every outing. Both engine and chassis feel great and I feel better after every km… so we’re ready to put up a fight in Qatar.”
