THIRD ROW FOR RODRIGO AFTER GERMAN QUALIFYING

High temperatures and strong winds have been among the protagonists of the second day of action for Team Kömmerling Gresini Moto3 at Sachsenring – the ninth event of the season and the last before the summer break. Gabriel Rodrigo finished QP in ninth place (1’26.806secs), which was enough to seal a third-row start for tomorrow.

The rider #19, who after suffering a lowside  and lacking a bit of pace yesterday, worked well with his crew and found good feeling and competitive pace ahead of tomorrow’s very long race (27 laps). Only a mistake on the exit at turn four did not allow the Argentine to line-up on the front row of the #GermanGP.

Despite finishing 27th, Riccardo Rossi managed to recover some lost confidence and get up to speed on a track that is still relatively new. The ninth race of the season will get underway tomorrow at 11am, with the question mark of rain which is expected tonight and tomorrow morning.

9th– GABRI RODRIGO #19

“We improved basically by one second compared to yesterday and the pace with used tyres is really good. We lost some ground yesterday, while today we got up with much clearer ideas. I was sixth at the end of FP3 and ninth in qualifying, despite the wind that surely didn’t help. We need to be smart during the race, especially because today we found what we were looking forward to be at the front tomorrow and battle for the podium.”

27th– RICCARDO ROSSI #54

“The result is not the best, but I’m happy. I found back the feeling that I lost in Jerez and I feel good on the bike. Obviously we aimed at being much closer to the front of the grid, but we have a good pace, we’re quite quick also when riding on our own – so we can do well tomorrow.”
