DIGGIA ON GOOD FORM AS HE SEALS DIRECT SEED TO Q2 ALSO AT VALENCIA
The positive trend continues for Fabio Di Giannantonio who – after the superb performance shown in Qatar – managed to start the season finale at Valencia on the right foot. In Friday’s key session, the Italian managed to log a record-worth 1’29.395secs time that places him in fourth position.
Alex Marquez had a bit more of a challenging day as he had an unfortunate high-speed crash at turn one in the opening session, while he was also competitive in the afternoon, just not enough to make it through (for a matter of milliseconds). He will try to bounce back from Q1 tomorrow – last time out it didn’t go so bad…
4th – FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO #49 (1’29.395s)
“It was another good Friday. I felt good straight away with the bike and race-pace wise we are already in a good position. We still need something with regards to the time-attack, but we’ll work on it tomorrow morning. The choice of the front tyre will be important for the race, but we’ll analyse everything tonight and be ready.”
12th – ALEX MARQUEZ #73 (1’29.614s)
“We made a big step forward between morning and afternoon and honestly, it’s my fault if we’re not in Q2. I made a few too many mistakes in my two quick-lap attempts, but we’re in the right place with regards to the race pace and the direction we’re following. We can and we must be competitive tomorrow.”
