NAVARRO IMPROVES ON DAY TWO OF #BRITISHGP
Jorge Navarro has finished on a positive note the Saturday of qualifying for the twelfh GP of the 2017 Moto2 World Championship, which is currently being contested at the Silverstone circuit in Great Britain. The 21-year-old Spaniard has claimed twelfth place on the grid for tomorrow’s 18-lap race but was only few thousandths of a second away from Bagnaia, Corsi and Luthi, who finished just ahead of him.
Navarro did not enjoy the best of starts to his day as he crashed out at Turn 12 during Free Practice 3. The Federal Oil Gresini rider, however, was able to learn from that mistake and worked with the crew on different settings – weight distribution mostly – for his Kalex machine, which proved to be very useful and helped him finding a better feeling straight away.
The Moto2 race of the British Grand Prix will get underway tomorrow at 14:00 local time (GMT +1), with Jorge Navarro looking for a good result which would allow him to sneak into the top-10 of the championship standings (he is seven points away at the moment).
12th – JORGE NAVARRO #9
“It has been a positive day, despite the overall result. This morning we were evaluating different settings but it was after the crash that we really found out what we had to change on the bike. There was not enough weight at the front-end – and this is the reason behind the crash – so from then on things improved considerably. I felt much better in qualifying and although we still need to do some fine tuning, things are looking good for tomorrow.”
